A favourite place for all the children who
come here – and a place for their parents to
meet. It is nice to end the day here and meet
up after various activities.
Johan grabs his knife and gives a few
sticks a trim, handing them to the young
campers Wilma, Tilde and Felicia. Then he
empties the picnic basket. Thermoses with
coffee and warm juice, hot dogs, hamburgers,
crisp-fried onions, salad, tomatoes, cucumber,
mustard and ketchup. The fire is burning and
soon we have perfect glowing embers for the
barbeque.
The river soon becomes the topic of
conversation around the fire.
– It’s incredibly nice to go canoeing on
Trysilelva, Johan says. If you start off here in
Trysil and paddle down to Nybergssund you
will pass a few islands, explore some lovely
areas along the shoreline and try your luck
at fishing. It’s a day tour that takes three to
six hours, depending on how many stops you
want to make.
Fishing in the river
keeps getting better.
At the moment, there are several ongoing
projects with the aim of improving the chances
of a catch. A bit further north, salmon from
Lake Vänern have been released.
– Our location with a 400-metre-long
shoreline means that we have great conditions
for fishing, he continues. We’re hoping that the
investments will benefit fishing in Trysil and
provide even better opportunities than today.
