Frykenbaden Camping – the
gem of Värmland! It is easy
to understand why Carina
and Uno Christoffersson
chose this slogan to repre-
sent their business.
Plenty of green open areas with spacious
camping pitches, the forest just around the
corner and the deep blue water of the lake.
It is also perfectly positioned for the guests
to enjoy the sunset on warm summer nights.
Carina and Uno Christoffersson
have been the owners and managers of
Frykenbaden Camping since 1986.
– It’s a very nice job, Carina says. I feel
free, I always get to meet people when they’re
at their happiest – when they’re on holiday!
– Even when the weather’s bad, people
keep their spirits up, she continues. On
days like that, there’s plenty to do in the
surrounding area. Visiting the Bergvik
Shopping Centre in Karlstad for example.
It’s only 25 kilometres from here.
They have their slogan printed on their
work clothes. “Värmlands pärla” (The
Gem of Värmland) nicely sums up what
they offer their guests: Large, green and
well-groomed open spaces with a total of
200 camping pitches, four fully equipped
mobile homes, eight smaller camping cabins
and twelve cabins with self-catering. In the
park there are apple trees, heavy with fruit
when autumn comes.
The forest is also nearby.
– In the late summer and autumn, many
guests come here to pick blueberries and
lingonberries: “Kröser” in the Värmland
dialect; “Tyttebær” in Norwegian. There are
also lots of mushrooms in the forests around
here and halfway through the summer
already you’ll find yellow chanterelles.
