Trysilelva
Camping,
Trysil
– The best thing about Trysil is, of course,
these amazing surroundings, says Anna
Swärd, who has been running the campsite
together with her husband Johan the last
few years.
She lets her hand sweep across the
landscape: the peaks and vast open spaces
in one direction, in the other, the river
travelling south along the entire campsite
with rocks leading into the water and a few
smaller beaches where you can play and
swim.
– Whatever activity you’re looking
for, they’re all easily accessible here, she
continues. Trysil has become well-known
for its skiing, but all seasons here offer dif-
ferent kinds of recreation and adventures.
– In the summer you get to experience a

completely different Trysil, with festivals
and a vibrant atmosphere permeating the
whole area. In the autumn, more people
come to hike or take part in Trysilrypa, a
women’s race on the mountain that is held
every year in September.
Trysilelva Camping
has been improved
since Anna and Johan took over as owners.
Besides attractive areas for tents and cara-
vans, there are also ten cabins of various
sizes with new beds and different interiors.
The service building has newly renovated
toilets and showers, and a nice kitchen.
The reception is open in the summer.
Throughout the rest of the year you get
assistance when needed, for example when
you arrive and check out, or when you want
to know more about what you can get up to
in Trysil. The service building is, of course,
cleaned daily all year round.
– We want to offer our guests
comfortable and attractive accommodation
at a reasonable rate, Johan explains.
Trysil attracts those who like to place their
caravan in a scenic location and use it both
on weekends and during holidays.
You could not ask
for a better location. It is
only 600 metres from the centre of Trysil and
in the winter, the ski bus stops just up the
road. And the new road will soon have cut
the journey from Oslo down to two hours.
Down by the beach there is a wind
shelter and a really nice area for barbeques.
