Next door to
the campsite you will find
Kil Golf Club with a scenic wood and park
course.
– We can offer our guests a golf package
with a lower green fee.
There is a lot going on at the campsite
on this summer’s day. There are plenty of
activities for those who want to enjoy more
things on their holiday than reading a good
book in the shade.
Reception is located in the typically
Swedish red and white house. Here you
will find all the help you need in terms of
accommodation. This is also where you can
rent a canoe or a rowing boat. Or why not
challenge your family or the people next
door in a round of golf billiards or crazy
golf. You can also buy fishing licences here.
Children under the age of 16 fish for free and
a fishing licence for the whole family costs
only 100 kronor and is valid for a full year!
The beach is suitable
for children and
the pontoons create a safe lagoon for the
younger children. The older children play
a bit further out. Here you will find both a
trampoline and a high inflatable “iceberg”
to climb up.
– It’s seven metres deep out there, says
Carina. But it’s a myth that Lake Fryken
is a cold lake for swimming. It only takes
a short time to warm up. Here the water
temperature often reaches 26 degrees or
above. It depends on the winds.
– A few years ago, tests showed that we
had the cleanest water in Sweden for people
to swim in.
The parents have created mini camps
with towels, sun chairs and cool bags up
on the lawn. From here they have a good
view in all directions – over the beach and
the play area with the trampoline, a smaller
climbing wall and a large bouncy pillow.
The maypole from the Midsummer
celebrations a few weeks earlier is still in
place.
– It’s fully booked here then. Everyone
helps to decorate the maypole and after-
wards it’s time for a traditional game of ring
toss, says Carina. In the evening we organise
a barn dance.
But there is entertainment at Frykenba-
den on other nights in the summer as well.
The pub has a band or a troubadour playing
on either Friday or Saturday.
– There’s always dancing! If not planned,
it will come spontaneously.
