Hammarö is the archipelago municipality
just south of Karlstad.
– You’re still on the mainland, but right
in the middle of the northern archipelago
of Vänern, says Anita Forsberg Skoglund,
CEO and partner. Here you can walk along
Bonäsleden to the cliffs by Räggårdsviken,
enjoy outdoor life by the Kilene sports
facilities or play golf.
– The golf course is right next door.
You can simply grab your bag and walk
over to the club house. If you wish to go
for a swim in the lake there are both rocky
and sandy beaches nearby.The southern tip
of Hammarö is part of a nature reserve,
Vänerskärgården, and a popular place for
migrant birds.
– There are also nature trails, wind
shelters and outdoor grill areas. Visiting the
cliffs by the Skage Lighthouse is a must – no
matter the season.
When Anita and
her colleague Karin
Vangstad first started up the hostel, the
houses had just been renovated.
– You can choose from self-catering
where you cook all your own food, or order
breakfast and other meals, Anita continues.
Service is available to those who want it.
We want our guests to feel well looked
after regardless of their needs. Nothing is
impossible!
There are a total of 60 beds in single
and double rooms. All rooms have their
own private bathroom with a shower and
toilet. Bedding is included. You do your own
cleaning or add it at an extra charge when
you make your booking.
Sätterstrand Hostel is also perfect for
organisations that are taking part in any of
the bigger events held in the Karlstad region.
