One part of the motel functions as a service
facility for the camping guests as well.
The motel was built in 2007 and offers ten
double rooms, a communal kitchen and
large lounges with a wood-burning stove
and TV.
Fishing is the centre
of attention here. In
a red cabin close to reception you will find
Trysil Fiskesenter (Trysil Fishing Centre),
which sells fishing gear and clothes, and also
houses the guide company Call of the Wild
which organises fishing trips on the River
Trysilelva and to other lakes and streams
nearby.
– A fishing shop and travel agency in
Copenhagen organises fishing trips up here
every year, Marit informs us. They have
fishing trips with destinations all over the
world, one of which is Trysil.
– We’ve also gathered that our foreign
guests find the fishing licence here in Trysil
very cheap, she continues. 100 Norwegian
kronor per day, 325 for a whole week.
She unfolds a map and shows us the areas
that are covered by the fishing licence. About
90 lakes and streams and a 100-kilometre
stretch of river! The map also has a lot of
black triangles – areas where the fishing is
said to be especially good.
Three times a week, from mid-June to
late August, they also organise a fishing café.
– People enjoy meeting other guests
who are as crazy about fishing as they are,
says Bjørn. The fishing guide comes along
and everyone is free to exchange their
experiences.
Rendalen
Naturligvis,
Rendalen
Rendalen is characterised by
well-kept farms, unexplored
nature and places with inte-
resting stories and culture.
Rendalen Naturligvis
Rendalen
naturally!
– We want to bring attention to what we
have here and package it in an attractive
way for our guests, says Hilde Nystuen,
who offers accommodation and fishing
activities at the farm Nystu where four
generations still live together.
The network Rendalen Naturligvis
(Rendalen Naturally) has been around since
2009, and gathers nine tourist companies
which all focus on very different areas.
Several of them offer accommodation
in cabins or houses on their farms.
Some invite their guests to participate in
traditional farming, like looking after the
animals and getting a taste of life on the
mountain pastures. Many of them refine
their own produce. Rendalen Naturligvis
also offers activities like fishing, hunting,
canoeing, dog sledding and hiking.
The network wants to highlight that
Rendalen is a good base if you wish to
explore more of the eastern parts of
Norway. Here you are at the centre of many
interesting places that are worth a daytrip.
The winter is exotic here. Snow and
cold weather are guaranteed during the
winter months. More than 100 kilometres
of cross-country skiing tracks are prepared
and connected with other track systems.
