Trysil Hyttegrend
Comfortable and accessible,
with affordable prices.
That is what Marit and
Bjørn Brenneng want to
offer the tourists who come
to Trysil for the outdoors and
fishing. The cabins, campsite
and motel enjoy a strategic
location right on the shores
of the river.
We have the fishing-
waters just outside
our door. It couldn´t
be better. There are
also many other
nice places to see
in the area.
Autumn is a gorgeous time to head up into
the mountains, something Enrico Düwe and
his father Hans-Peter Düwe from Berlin have
discovered. Their red van has been packed
to the brim with all the fishing gear they will
need on their trip. For seven days, the black
and red cabin here on the headland by the
River Trysilelva will be their base camp.
– We have the fishing-waters just outside
our door, says Enrico. It couldn´t be better.
There are also many other nice places to see
in the area. It’s the first time we’re in these
parts of the Norwegian mountains – but
definitely not the last.
His words ought to please the hosts at
Trysil Hyttegrend because it does not take
more than that to sum up Marit and Bjørn’s
business idea. You will find everything
you need here for a comfortable stay in the
mountains.
– We offer many different types of
accommodation, Bjørn informs us. And if
you come here as a group you can also order
food via catering and book a cosy meeting
facility with room for 40 people in an old
timbered house that we’ve renovated. It’s
the perfect place for company and family
gatherings and other social events.
The cabin area consists of twelve houses,
creating a small village. Some of them are
located below the slope by the water, along
with an outdoor bar and a wood-burning
Finnish sauna. All the cabins have their own
private bathroom with shower and toilet, a
small kitchen, microwave, fridge/freezer and
Wi-Fi.
Each cabin has been decorated with
wood-carved fish of different species and
sizes. Bjørn laughs and explains.
– If you catch a fish that is over 50
centimetres long, the fish ends up on the wall.
A friend and I have made them. A few new
ones are added each year to great delight.
From early spring to late October,
they also welcome caravans, tents and
campervans, and open the three basic
camping cabins which do not have running
water or bathroom facilities, but a kitchen
for basic cooking.
