While her guests are enjoying themselves
on the jetty, she gets another load of birch
wood for the sauna. Then she throws a
bucket of water on the stove and quickly
escapes the steaming heat.
– It has not been my intention to change
too much of what Länsmansgården is
already known for, she says. I’m taking
my time getting to know the manor and its
history in order to make the right moves
for the future. Many of my colleagues
have worked here a long time. They are
an important link with the past and know
many of our regular guests.
– The first time you come here you’re a
guest, the next time you’re already a friend,
she continues. The peace and quiet, along
with our beautiful lakeside location and
relaxing atmosphere are the things people
appreciate here. You long to come back.
IN a voice bursting
with excitement, she
tells us about a couple of German guests
who booked a room on their way from
Oslo to Stockholm. Day after day they kept
prolonging their stay.
– They sat here and worked in the lounge
upstairs with their computers, she smiles.
This is how we want it to be. We want our
guests to feel at home. It wasn’t until six
nights later that they packed their car and
continued their journey.
The atmosphere at Länsmansgården is
also well-liked among conference guests.
The County Sheriff’s Wing has several
newly renovated meeting rooms of various
sizes. The Major’s Wife – the largest
conference room – seats 60 people.
– When you’re at peace you have room
for new ideas, Marianne explains.
A couple of days of work combined with
activities are a good mix. Through col-
laborations with local organisers, you can
combine your conference with everything
from a snowmobile safari or hiking, to a
pentathlon or an interesting lecture.
– We have a large network. Together we
will find the content and structure that suit
your organisation during your stay with us.
We offer all the things you expect to find,
but also a few surprises.
Despite the peace and quiet, Sunne
and the surrounding areas are teeming
with cultural activities. Västanå Theatre
attracts over 20,000 visitors with its
summer performances in Berättarladan
